Hearts and Melodies is a short story about four people and how their lives interact. It dwells on the mythology of the Tamawo, a local Filipino mythological creature that is part engkanto and part Edward Cullen (the skin shimmering in sunlight). At its core though, it explores different kinds of love-a love between a parent and a child (Rosalyne and her son), the budding love between two people, and an all-consuming love that had been cut short.
